My first experience as a debator...

Pada 3-5 April lalu telah tercatat satu sejarah di mana Ami mewakili sekolah dalam bahas Bahasa Inggeris atau lebih mudah dipanggil debate. Actually, agak surprise bile Ami dapat tahu Ami kena kena wakil skolah utk Karnival Antara Teknik (KAT) Zon Johor dalam debate. Mau tak, ni first time Ami masuk debate. So, Ami try jerlah. Yelah, nak cari pengalaman baru kan?

KAT 2009 telah diadakan di SMT Kota Tinggi dan dijalankan selama 3 hari. AziTech (nickname skolah Ami) telah menghantar seramai lebih kurang 25 org pelajar utk mewakili dlm acara netball, debate, rekacipta and KAT idol (mcm Malaysian Idol gitu, ahaks!) Most students adalah Form 5 & lbih kurang 5 org saje students Form 4, iaitu Ami, Farouq (<-- bdk reserve utk debate) & netballers. Walaupun nisbah bdk Form 4 ngan Form 5 agak besar (mmg besar pown!), tapi itu tak menjadi hal bagi Ami. Ami ni jenis yang suke berkawan ngan senior sbb diorg lebih brpengalaman & ini memudahkan Ami jika Ami ada masalah. Diorang ni sempoi & cool jer! Diorang akan respect kite bile kite respect diorang sebagai seorang senior.

First opponent sekolah Ami adalah SMT Batu Pahat. All boys plak tuh. Nasib lah dpt government side. Lagipun, motion debate mase tu nampak sgt berpihak kepada government. Motionnyer ialah: Child's Education Is The Responsibility of the Parents. Tyme lwn diorang, rse cam girls vs boys plak. Third-speaker diorang ade iras2 Theva, tp bdk tuh Melayu, nmenye Amir. Alhamdulillah, sepanjang debate ngan diorang, Ami dpt berhujah dgn baik (walaupun ade kena POI byk kali ngan diorang, tp tu x jd hal lah!) Syukur, team Ami menang. Yeah!!

Utk semi-final plak, sekolah Ami kena lawan SMT Pontian (or we called as Stepo). Kali ni, team Ami dpt negative side plak. Haishh... Motionnyer: Internet Is The Cause of Social Degradation. Some people will say that motion nih sememangnyer memihak kpd government (memang pun). Hmph, walau apepun, we have to give our best this time. Tyme debate ngan Stepo, Ami pling tak tahan ngan third-speaker diorang, Nabil. Annoying giler dier tuh!! Die explain lmbt dgn style die yg sememangnyer trsangat2 annoying. Bile kitorang POI, die cam meng'anjing' (sorry, couldn't find any suitable words) blik ape yg kitorang ckp. Tyme die POI kitorang pun sme cmtu gak. Haish.. Yang paling funny nyer ttg team Stepo ialah, they have problems with some pronounciations dan fluency (<-- btul x ayat tuh??) Unfortunately, nasib tak menyebelahi team Ami. Stepo lah gak yang menang. At first, kitorg tak puas hati. Tp, lame2 tuh, kene redha jer lah. At least, kitorang dpt tengok Stepo yg akn brlwn ngan SMTJB esok. Hehe. Siap sedialah Stepo utk dihentam oleh SMTJB. Aisehh, tak baiknyer...

Next day, merupakan final round debate antara Stepo ngan SMTJB. Kali ni, motionnyer: Man's Advaces in Science and Technology Has Brought Adverse Effects to the Nature. Stepo dpt government & SMTJB dpt opposition. Ami nk tgk si Nabil tuh kene hentam ngan Nigel ( bdk SMTJB). Yg Ami tahu, si Nigel tuh sememangnyer teramat terror dlm debate. He's a student of Johore's Best Speaker, Mr Ang. That's what Ami heard from my teacher, Mdm Fazilah. Long story short, akhirnye, SMTJB won against Stepo. Yeay! Congrats to them!!

During the prize giving ceremony, diumumkan bhwa skolah Ami telah memenangi 4 daripada 5 kategori yang dipertandingkn:

• 3rd place dlm netball
• 5 th place dlm KAT Idol
• 4th place dlm debate
• 3rd place dlm reka cipta

All and all, congrats to all students and teachers!!! Next year, kita cuba lagi and give all the best that we have!! GO AZITECH!!!!
